In 1980, the draft was being reinstated in the USA. This prompted Frank Zappa to rush record a new single, 'I Don't Wanna Get Drafted'
Having just come off a well publicized legal battle with Warner Brothers over (among other things) their refusal to release his four record set 'Lather,' Zappa set up shop with Mercury who distributed Zappa Records. Evidently the parent still wielded some control as they refused to release this single.
Zappa took matters into his own hands and released it independently. This also was the last straw for him at Mercury. He then went on to run the Barking Pumpkin label through Columbia. Now all the recordings are owned by the Zappa Family Trust.

It even came with a draft card.
